Lindsey Dowling serves as the Carolinas Credit Union League’s director of state affairs. In this capacity, she oversees and directs all advocacy efforts within North Carolina, builds and maintains relationships with state lawmakers and candidates, develops legislative and political strategies, and promotes and advances the credit union legislative agenda. In addition, she has supervisory responsibility for the SC legislative affairs manager. Lindsey has over a decade of state and local government relations experience.
To Lindsey, her role represents a dedication to ensuring that the decisions made within the state legislature positively impact credit unions. Educating legislators about the significance of their mission remains a central focus of her work.
Before joining the League, she served as a lobbyist advising a range of clients on an array of governmental affairs matters and representing them before the North Carolina Executive Branch and General Assembly. Additionally, she served as policy advisor for the Office of the Speaker and as director of policy and operations for the Office of the Majority Leader at the North Carolina General Assembly where she researched issues, developed policy agendas, and monitored legislation.
One of the most rewarding aspects of Lindsey’s career has been the relationships she has cultivated with key stakeholders in government. Observing the intricate process of governance and policy-making has been a source of great inspiration and motivation for her. Her unwavering passion for this work remains a driving force. Lindsey’s key to professional success is a blend of passion, a steadfast commitment to follow through on initiatives, and the ability to adapt and embrace change.
Lindsey is a native of Waterford, NY, and a graduate of Sage College of Albany with a B.A. cum laude in Business Administration.
In her spare time, Lindsey enjoys sports such as football and basketball, hiking, and relaxing at the beach. She also loves spending time with her three dogs.
