CPM Federal Credit Union
CPM Federal Credit Union Supports Local Food Banks Amid Shutdown
In response to the longest government shutdown in history, CPM Federal Credit Union extended its support beyond member assistance to help address community needs. In late October 2025, the credit union’s Board approved a $10,000 donation to two South Carolina food banks—Harvest Hope and Lowcountry Food Bank—to aid families facing food insecurity. CPM’s leadership shared that this was an initial contribution, with the potential for additional support as needed.
Marine Federal Credit Union
Marine Federal Credit Union: Standing by Members During the Shutdown
Since the 1980s, Marine FCU (based in Jacksonville, NC) has stood by its members during government shutdowns. In the fall shutdown of 2025, the credit union activated its Payroll Assistance Program to provide financial relief to active-duty military, Department of Defense personnel, and federal employees, extending the program through the end of the year or until government operations resume.
Two examples, shared in November, highlight the impact: a member facing foreclosure after her mortgage company denied her deferment request was enrolled in Marine’s program, enabling her to make her mortgage payment and maintain financial obligations; and a single parent on a fixed income, with a child in the ICU, was able to preserve her savings while covering essential expenses thanks to this program.
Marine FCU remains committed to supporting its members through challenging times, offering solutions like this that reflect its core values of service, compassion, and community.
Piedmont Advantage Credit Union
Piedmont Advantage Credit Union: Helping Members Weather the Shutdown
At Piedmont Advantage Credit Union, based in Winston-Salem, NC, the team has been quick to respond to members facing income disruptions during the government shutdown, which ended on November 12, 2025. The credit union had extended payments on seven loans totaling nearly $190,000 in balances—easing more than $3,200 in monthly payments as reported in late October. One TSA employee was able to refinance his personal loan to access an additional $2,000 for essential bills, and the credit union received its first mortgage relief request during that time as well. Each case is reviewed individually, reflecting Piedmont Advantage’s people-first approach.
Whether through flexible payment options or personal guidance from Certified Credit Union Financial Counselors, the credit union remains committed to helping members stay financially steady through uncertainty.

As the federal government shutdown concluded on Nov. 12, leaving temporary disruptions to SNAP benefits, REV Federal Credit Union’s signature REV Day for Good helped deliver relief to Lowcountry neighbors in need, placing thousands of essential items—from food and hygiene kits to diapers—directly into their hands. Based in Charleston, SC, REV hosts this all-employee day of service each year as part of its #UpTheGood initiative. SC National Guard FCU Opens Food Pantry During Shutdown
In addition to offering no-fee skip-a-pay options and payroll gap loans, SC National Guard Federal Credit Union opened a food pantry at each branch to support members affected during the government shutdown. Operating under a “Give what you can. Take what you need” approach, the credit union made an initial investment to stock the pantries and ensured food was available while the shutdown was ongoing and SNAP benefits were temporarily disrupted.
S.C. State Federal Credit Union
S.C. State Credit Union Supports Food Banks Statewide
During the recent government shutdown, S.C. State Federal Credit Union supported families facing food insecurity across South Carolina through its ongoing branch food drives. On Nov. 12, the credit union made a donation of $20,000 to Harvest Hope Food Bank in Columbia, along with more than 1,000 pounds of food collected from Midlands branches. President Jim Kinard joined the effort, helping unload the food—a hands-on example of the credit union’s dedication to serving its communities.
While collection efforts in the Midlands benefited Harvest Hope, other branch locations supported local food banks in Aiken, Anderson, Charleston, Clemson, Florence, Greenville, Greenwood, Orangeburg, Seneca, and Spartanburg.
Truliant Federal Credit Union
Truliant FCU Launches Matching Campaign to Support Local Food Banks
Recognizing the challenges many families face this time of year, Truliant Federal Credit Union, based in Winston-Salem, NC, has launched a matching donations campaign to support local food banks impacted by the government shutdown. Through the end of the year, Truliant and the Truliant Foundation will match all donations made to the Foundation up to $50,000, with a goal of providing $100,000 in total support.
To kick off the initiative, Truliant contributed an initial $50,000 donation to local food banks, helping replenish supplies strained by the shutdown and increased community need. Combined, the campaign has the potential to deliver $150,000 in relief to food banks across the region before year’s end—a strong show of Truliant’s ongoing commitment to local families and food security.
