Dan leads the Carolinas Credit Union League, driving strategy, advocacy, and collaboration to strengthen credit unions across the Carolinas. In addition to his role at the League, he serves on the Board of Directors of Carrick Professionals, Advanced Fraud Solutions, the AACUL Executive Board, and the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation.
Dan joined the League in April 1997 as field director of North Carolinians for Credit Union Choice, a grassroots coalition supporting the passage of the Credit Union Membership Access Act (HR 1151). Following the Act’s passage in 1999, he advanced through key leadership roles: assistant vice president of governmental affairs, vice president of governmental/regulatory affairs, and senior vice president of association services—overseeing advocacy, compliance, and communications. He became EVP/COO in 2016, managing core association offerings, and assumed the role of president and CEO in 2018.
A native of Winston-Salem, Dan earned a double major in political science and economics from the University of Notre Dame. Before joining the League, he worked on the U.S. Senate campaign of Charlie Sanders in Raleigh and later for Congressman Elijah Cummings in Washington, D.C.
