Nate Lane

Nate brings a wealth of experience and a deep appreciation for the credit union industry to his role as director of federal affairs for the Carolinas Credit Union League. Having spent the better part of a decade living and working in the bustling heart of Washington, D.C., he now finds immense satisfaction in serving credit unions and their members.

Nate’s commitment to the credit union cause is further demonstrated by his role at the League. He has taken on the responsibility of developing and executing the association’s federal advocacy strategy. Working closely with the Advocacy team, he is dedicated to advancing the federal and regulatory agenda of member credit unions in North and South Carolina.

He thrives on collaborating with colleagues, traveling, and the opportunity to meet remarkable individuals along the way.

Throughout his career, Nate has embodied the ethos of getting things done. He believes that every meeting and relationship matters which has led to many highlights and accomplishments in his career.

Nate holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Miami University. Prior to joining the League, he served as the senior advisor for Chairman Rep. Mike Bost (R-Ill) in Washington, D.C., overseeing a diverse policy portfolio and media strategy. He also represented the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) in the nation’s capital, diligently monitoring hearings and providing invaluable updates on congressional activities to the TVA team and executive staff.

While he pursues professional success, Nate’s top values remain firmly rooted in his personal and family life. Outside of his professional commitments, Nate is a sports enthusiast. He enjoys following F1 racing, football, the Premier League, and the Champions League.
