Spears Goodlett

Spears Goodlett serves as South Carolina legislative and political affairs manager at the Carolinas Credit Union League. In this role, he leads the League’s legislative and political efforts in South Carolina, manages relationships with lawmakers, and drives the League’s advocacy agenda in Columbia. He also oversees grassroots and political action committee (PAC) initiatives across both Carolinas to strengthen credit union engagement and influence.

Since joining the League’s advocacy team in 2023, Spears has built trusted relationships at the South Carolina State House, expanded credit union participation in the political process, and brought fresh energy to the League’s advocacy work. His efforts continue to elevate the credit union voice on key policy issues and ensure members’ interests are well represented.

Spears holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Sewanee: The University of the South. His diverse background includes work with the Columbia Museum of Art, supporting exhibition installations, and with Crawford and von Keller, LLC, where he managed the organization and delivery of time-sensitive legal documents.

Guided by a passion for collaboration and service, Spears is committed to advancing the credit union movement and the communities it supports. Outside the office, he enjoys exploring South Carolina’s natural spaces and supporting efforts in environmental sustainability and financial education.
